Life Lessons Learned as a Member of the Golden Gopher Baseball Team
I was blessed and fortunate to spend four years, and to be a part of two Big Ten championship teams, as a member within the University of Minnesota Golden Gopher baseball program. During that time, I learned more about the game of baseball than I had ever imagined. However, it has been the years since leaving the program that I have realized the profound influence of the lessons that I learned as a member of the Golden Gopher baseball team, and how these experiences have better prepared me for life after college. As the leader of the University of Minnesota Golden Gopher baseball team, head coach John Anderson’s aim each year is to produce a high achieving team that strives to attain and sustain optimal performance on the field. Coach Anderson is the career record holder for most wins in school and Big Ten history. However, Coach Anderson’s ultimate goal is not just to win baseball games, but to prepare student-athletes for post-college life.
